About East Cape, IL - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

East Cape Girardeau (or East Cape), Illinois is a small Southeastern Illinois village.  With less than 500 residents, it is quiet and peaceful.   Seasonal weather means that residents can anticipate snow in the wintertime and sunshine in the summertime, which is ideal for those who love to the vegetation bud in the spring and that same foliage fall to the ground in autumn.

The town sits across the Mississippi River from Cape Girardeau, Missouri.  Thus, the name.  Cape Girardeau is a much larger and busier town, with colleges, hospitals, shopping, dining and more.  The people of East Cape are able to enjoy the convenience of larger city’s amenities while living in a quiet and rural atmosphere.  It is, in many ways, the best of both worlds.  The history of the area is easily enjoyed and understood in the town of Cape Girardeau as there are numerous spectacular murals all over the city commemorating and celebrating local history and culture.  For example, Mississippi River Tales Mural covers about 18,000 square feet of the city's downtown floodwall with its 24 beautiful and distinctive panels. All of this is accessed with just a quick drive over the Bill Emerson Memorial Bridge. A day trip into historic downtown Cape Girardeau would be a fabulous way to spend a warm spring or summer day in Southeastern Illinois.

A town situated on a river is bound to have some seafood dining!  East Cape doesn’t disappoint. Seafood lovers must try  Babe’s Fish Wagon, where they serve the area’s most famous fish and chips to locals and visitor alike.  On the other side of the river, there are a great many delicious dining options. Whether it is seafood, Cajun cooking or a little fine dining that you are in the mood for, you will find something tasty right there on the river.  Sit outside and eat a lovely meal along the river on a warm day in the summer, or warm up from the inside out with some delicious hot food on a colder winter or fall day.
